DTLA Jewelry District Tour

Downtown Los Angeles has the second-largest jewelry district in the nation, after New York City. To the surprise of visitors to Downtown as well as many urban experts, most of the buildings of the old “historic core" were not disturbed by later development.

Downtown Skyline

Newer buildings and skyscrapers are mainly located to the west and northwest of the old theatre district which not only stands but houses over 5,000 vendors and jewelry suppliers while still maintaining it’s charming 1930’s aesthetic. But how do you find anything downtown? It can be scary to even park!

On April 10th we invite our members down into the heart of the old historic core of DTLA to go on a long walk with us. Throughout the day we will tour some of its popular vendors and some of its more obscure ones too. All in all we cover about 20 vendors, pointing out other interesting spots and spilling lots of secrets along the way.

We visit tool suppliers, finding houses, bead suppliers, stone dealers, stone setters, casters, platers, engravers, manufacturers. Some of our vendors even prepare demonstrations for our attendees. This event is now in it's fifth year and has become a popular annual event as we are constantly discovering new and exciting metalworkers and vendors.
